Well it's that time of the year again when schools hold their graduation and formal events celebrating the culmination of 12 plus years of formal education. For many this is the first time they've seen their children dress up formally and don't they scrub up fanstastically!
Well this year it was my turn to watch my baby boys (OK so they haven't been babies for at least 15 years) to graduate from high school. It was a beautiful event run by their school and I'm just so proud of my boys.
Next year now brings a new chapter in their lives that begins adulthood and with that comes more responsibility and stress. I just know they'll do well and whatever direction life takes them in (doctor, specialist - mumma needs a nice mansion by the beach *nudge nudge*) I just hope that they can make themselves proud of their own achievements before trying to please others.

Big Day Out...
What a day! With the big kids at school and the little boys in daycare, husbs and I decided to travel to the "big city" aka "Brisvegas" and wander around playing with our new lenses and just generally hanging out doing what we love...taking photos! Today I wanted to not necessarily get out of my comfort zone but I had an itch that I needed to be scratched and that itch was abstract. I wanted to capture an image that was out of context...well Brisbane brought it on and I hope I gave her (yes of course Brisbane is a her) justice.
During the week Brisbane is jam packed with workers etc and so forth so taking abstract images without people in them was going to be a hard task but we did try our hardest...including being thrown out of an arcade for taking photos of the pretty decorations...terrorist alert...NOT! It's okay we did got quietly. I do find it interesting that someone with a small point-and-shoot camera can take photos of anything, anywhere but someone with a larger DSLR and larger lens will be seen and questioned. It is sad...death by christmas decoration...
...the security guard was only doing his job...but seriously if I was going to be a terrorist I wouldn't be using a large camera...I'd be a lot more sneaky...I am thinking anyway!
Back onto a more positive note Brisbane was in fine form and as beautiful as always. I love Brisbane...can't exactly quantify why and don't necessary think I need to but I love her all the same and here's a few images that hopefully show my appreciation and love for my city of birth.
I love my new lens and everytime I go to Brisbane there's so much to see and capture and appreciate.

Caloundra Community Centre...a sneak peak
Last Friday morning I was invited to undertake a shoot at the Caloundra Community Centre by the Adult Literacy Class. Everyone was awesome, so welcoming and friendly, what an amazing bunch of people.
The work that the Caloundra Community Centre does for Caloundra, and surrounds, is just so fantastic and so worthy of mention. I can't rave enough about the beautiful people there.
Here's a sneak peak of some of the images (and of course people) who allowed me into their lives for but a moment...

...thank you to all who not only allowed me to visit but also allowed me to capture a moment in their lives.
